Senior Silicon Test Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for validation and debug of new silicon, development of ATE hardware and software, device characterization across process and operating conditions, and delivering cost-effective production test solutions. Works within the Hardware Engineering team and collaborates cross-functionally on test methodologies for advanced packaging technologies.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Validate and debug newly fabricated silicon and early silicon bring-up.
  • Develop ATE hardware and software for device testing and characterization.
  • Characterize device performance across process corners and operating conditions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test methodologies for advanced packaging technologies.
  • Develop and release cost-effective production test solutions into high-volume manufacturing.

Requirements

Essential skills and experience:

  • Hands-on experience with common test equipment: ATE, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, network analyzers.
  • Experience with silicon bring-up and high-volume manufacturing (posting indicates 3+ years in related roles).
  • Experience developing tests on ATE platforms and familiarity with structural test methods (Scan/ATPG, JTAG, memory BIST).
  • Practical knowledge of VLSI design and semiconductor device behavior; experience with CMOS, analog, and mixed‑signal blocks (ADC, DAC, PLL, codecs) and their measurements.
  • Software skills: C/C++, scripting (Perl) and data-analysis tools (JMP) for test development and automation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Advantest 93K SOC test systems or similar ATE platforms.
  • Experience testing CPUs and advanced package technologies.
  • Design-for-test (DFT) experience.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
