Job Title

Senior Silicon Product Architect, Performance and Power

Role Summary

Define technical strategy for next-generation silicon products by connecting silicon capabilities, customer workloads, and system-level opportunities. Work within Silicon CoDesign to develop performance- and power-oriented features, guide product strategy, and advise engineering teams from concept through shipping silicon.

Position is based in Santa Clara, CA and operates in a hybrid work model.

Experience Level

Senior-level role. Requires extensive domain experience (see Requirements). Typical background: 12+ years in silicon or system performance and power with ownership of product architecture or technical strategy.

Responsibilities

Accountable for translating customer and workload needs into product goals and technical decisions, and for driving cross-team execution.

  • Own the product vision and "Product Soul": set measurable performance, power, and efficiency goals, priorities, and trade-offs.
  • Architect performance and power management features and system-level solutions across concept, silicon, and product release.
  • Benchmark competing architectures and prioritize investments for performance, power efficiency, and product differentiation.
  • Define operating points, configurations, and binning strategies; validate models against silicon data and identify risks early.
  • Mentor engineers, lead technical reviews, and raise standards for data analysis, technical reasoning, and communication.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience.

  • 12+ years in silicon or system performance and power with responsibility for product architecture or technical strategy.
  • Proven judgment in converting customer and business needs into measurable product goals and architectural decisions.
  • Deep expertise in silicon performance and power: device behavior, voltage-frequency characteristics, process variation, power management, and electrical/thermal limits.
  • Broad knowledge of CPU, GPU, or SoC architectures, including memory, interconnects, and hardware/software co-design.
  • Experience with first-principles modeling, workload analysis, competitive benchmarking, statistics, and data analysis.
  • Strong technical writing, presentation, mentoring skills, and experience influencing distributed/global teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Understanding of LLM architectures and training or inference workloads.
  • Experience with rack/datacenter performance and power or across client, embedded, automotive, and networking products.
  • Hands-on experience with silicon bring-up, performance and power characterization, operating points, or binning.
  • Track record of proposing novel system-level concepts or features with measurable product value.

Education Requirements

MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, systems engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
