Role Summary
The Senior Silicon Design Engineer position at Advanced Micro Devices involves working on complex Multi-Processor System on Chip (MPSoC) FPGAs with advanced ARM/Microblaze processor cores.
Experience Level
This role is ideal for candidates with 1 to 3 years of experience in the embedded domain, particularly in electrical or computer engineering or IC design.
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities include:
- Developing cost-effective production test solutions that meet product quality, test cost, and diagnosability specifications.
- Defining and implementing functional test strategies that support testing of complex components and subsystems inside FPGAs.
- Creating bring-up sequences for various IP blocks and verifying these in simulation and Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) environments.
- Collaborating with IC design, firmware, verification, and test teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly to meet product release timelines.
Requirements
Candidates should possess:
- Proficiency in Embedded C for processor/microcontroller applications.
- Hands-on experience in pre-silicon validation and post-silicon debugging.
- Knowledge of Verilog RTL design and hardware functional verification concepts.
- Experience with digital design and firmware development using FPGA/ASIC Flow, particularly Vivado.
- A strong understanding of semiconductor fundamentals and digital electronics.
- Comfort with Linux and scripting languages like Python, Perl, or Tcl.
- Analytical skills with an ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for working in a diverse, global team.
Education Requirements
A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, IC Design, or a related field is required.
