Senior Security Architect - Hardware

Role Summary

Technical lead responsible for defining and guiding HW Root of Trust architecture for NVIDIA SoCs and GPUs. The role is hands-on and cross-functional, working with hardware, software, research teams and external partners to design, review, and implement platform security across client, automotive, gaming, and server products.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include architecture definition, technical leadership, and cross-team execution to meet HW Root of Trust and platform security requirements.

  • Define long-term roadmap and architecture for a flexible HW Root of Trust across product lines.
  • Research, design, and develop security architecture solutions that meet internal and external standards.
  • Review architectural, microarchitectural, and verification specifications to ensure IPs align with platform security requirements.
  • Lead implementation efforts and provide hands-on technical guidance during design and integration.
  • Collaborate with customers and partners to identify, analyze, and address security issues and threats.
  • Coordinate across hardware, software, research, and product teams to integrate security features into silicon.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications and core technical skills required to perform the role.

  • 8+ years of relevant work or research experience in security architecture or related fields.
  • Experience with the ASIC design process and architecture of large SoCs or GPUs.
  • Proficiency in programming and debugging: C/C++, Verilog, ARM assembly, and scripting (Python/Perl).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a dynamic, customer-focused team.

Relevant domain experience (nice-to-have β€” candidates typically have several of these):

  • System architecture for mobile, automotive, gaming, or server platforms.
  • SoC security architecture including secure boot, measured boot, and HW root of trust.
  • ARM or RISC-V CPU architectures and related security features.
  • Cryptography: algorithms, standards, implementations, and applications.
  • Security mitigations against physical attacks (fault injection, side-channel attacks).
  • Remote attestation mechanisms (TPM or equivalent).
  • Digital Rights Management (DRM) standards.
  • Security threat modeling, penetration testing, certification standards, and compliance testing.

Education Requirements

BS, MS, or PhD (or equivalent practical experience) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
