Senior RTL IP Design Engineer
Role Summary
As part of the Networking Technology Solutions Group, the Senior RTL IP Design Engineer leads front-end RTL design and integration for data-center networking IP. The role collaborates with architecture, IP design, physical design, and product engineering teams to deliver first-pass silicon success and production-ready IP.
Experience Level
Senior β minimum 12 years of relevant industry experience as stated in the posting.
Responsibilities
The engineer will define micro-architecture and IP block specifications, guide implementation, and coordinate cross-functionally to meet performance, power, area and timing goals.
- Define product features and micro-architecture requirements and produce technical specifications for IP blocks.
- Provide technical guidance to RTL design teams and review design deliverables (lint, CDC, synthesis, hand-off documentation).
- Work with architects and cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate complex technical risks.
- Collaborate with physical design on area and floorplan refinement and timing targets.
- Participate in verification test plan reviews and sign-offs.
- Support post-silicon debug and resolution of performance, power and functional issues.
- Share knowledge and contribute to platform and system architecture discussions.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Minimum 12 years of experience in silicon IP development and design methodologies.
- Strong Verilog RTL design experience, including simulation, lint, CDC, and synthesis workflows.
- Familiarity with design qualification processes and scripting for automation.
- Proven ability to collaborate with senior architects and cross-geography teams; strong written and verbal communication.
- Experience mentoring and providing technical leadership.
Preferred:
- Experience developing networking IP (Ethernet) and industry-standard security protocols.
- Detailed knowledge of PCIe.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
