Senior RTL Design Engineer
Role Summary
Work on RTL design and delivery for AMD PCI Express (PCIe) IP used across next-generation server, client, GPU and semi-custom products. The role covers architecture development, RTL implementation, verification support, and silicon bring-up.
This position emphasizes applying AI-assisted RTL methods to improve design productivity, quality, and time-to-market while maintaining robust functionality and performance. Location: Canada (Markham primary; also Vancouver and Ottawa).

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include RTL design, collaboration with architects, and supporting verification through silicon bring-up.
- Design and implement IP RTL for PCIe used across server, client, GPU and semi-custom products.
- Collaborate with IP and system architects to micro-architect and refine features.
- Apply low-power techniques while preserving system performance.
- Focus on timing closure, lint checking and CDC closure to ensure high-quality RTL.
- Support verification, debug, and silicon bring-up activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Deploy and validate AI-assisted/AI-generated RTL solutions in production silicon flows.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.
- Strong RTL coding experience using Verilog HDL.
- Proven experience deploying AI-assisted or AI-generated RTL solutions in advanced semiconductor flows.
- Experience working with multiple clock domains.
- Experience using lint and CDC tools and driving closure.
- Experience supporting verification and post-silicon debug.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills; able to work independently when required.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience developing specifications.
- Familiarity with high-speed I/O protocols (PCIe, USB, SATA, Ethernet).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
