Senior RTL Design Engineer
Role Summary
Architect, design, and implement high-performance digital logic for SoC and IP blocks. Work with architecture, verification, physical design, and firmware teams to deliver production-quality silicon and take blocks from concept through integration and tape-out.
Focused on RTL/SystemVerilog development, optimization for power, performance and area, and cross-team delivery.
Experience Level
Senior β typically requires 2β4 years of SoC or IP design experience (per posting).
Responsibilities
Main technical responsibilities and team interactions.
- Develop micro-architecture specifications from system-level requirements.
- Implement synthesizable RTL in SystemVerilog/Verilog and own blocks through integration and tape-out.
- Optimize designs for power, performance, and area (PPA) through architectural and synthesis-driven iteration.
- Integrate IP blocks into larger subsystems and SoCs; collaborate with backend teams for timing closure and physical feasibility.
- Drive design reviews, produce documentation, and maintain lifecycle design quality processes.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across the team.
- Perform work in a safe and responsible manner and support Environmental, Health, Safety & Security programs.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 2β4 years of SoC or IP design experience.
- Proficiency in Verilog and/or synthesizable SystemVerilog.
- Strong understanding of fundamental digital design concepts and AMBA protocols.
- Experience with SoC designs taken through to tape-out and strong debugging skills.
- Experience optimizing designs for PPA and collaborating with physical design teams.
- Fluent written and verbal English.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with CPU, DSP, networking, or security IP blocks.
- Python or other scripting experience and workflow automation.
- Project management, planning, and organizational skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
