Senior RF-Probe Electrical Test Engineer
Role Summary
Design, develop and execute RF probe electrical test methodologies to validate semiconductor devices and modules. Work with design, process and product engineering teams to ensure device performance, reliability and yield meet specifications and to support new product introduction (NPI).
This is an onsite role in Richardson, TX (expected onsite five days per week). The role supports U.S. government contracts and requires U.S. Person status.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The posting requests 2β5 years of relevant RF electrical testing experience (or equivalent education and experience).
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include planning and executing RF probe tests, operating test equipment, analyzing results, and driving improvements.
- Develop and implement RF probe test plans and procedures for semiconductor devices and modules.
- Operate and maintain RF test equipment (network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, probe stations, and related instrumentation).
- Perform electrical characterization and validation; collect and analyze test data to identify performance trends and root causes of failures.
- Collaborate with design, process and product engineering to optimize validation, quality and yield.
- Lead troubleshooting for complex test issues and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
- Support NPI and ramp activities with robust test strategies and documentation.
- Document test results, generate reports and present findings to cross-functional teams.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and safety protocols in the test environment.
Requirements
Must-have skills and conditions (education summary moved to Education Requirements below).
- 2β5 years of experience in RF electrical testing, preferably in semiconductor or wireless device manufacturing (or equivalent practical experience).
- Hands-on experience with probe station operation and RF test instrumentation: network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters.
- Experience in electrical characterization, validation and root-cause analysis; comfortable with data analysis to drive process improvements.
- Proven troubleshooting skills and ability to lead technical problem resolution.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team.
- Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, asylee or refugee); position is not eligible for company visa sponsorship and requires work on U.S. government contracts.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with yield analysis, failure analysis and statistical process control.
- Proficiency in test automation and scripting (SCPI, Python, LabVIEW, Instrument Macro).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and practical experience. The posting explicitly allows an equivalent amount of education and experience in lieu of a degree.
