Senior Product Validation Engineer – Aprisa
SiemensJob Title
Senior Product Validation Engineer – Aprisa
Role Summary
Lead validation and qualification of the Aprisa digital implementation platform across the complete backend design flow. Collaborate with R&D, Product Engineering, Application Engineering, and Customer Support to ensure correctness, performance, benchmarking, and quality-of-results for advanced-node semiconductor designs.
Experience Level
Senior-level. No explicit years-of-experience requirement specified.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include validating tool functionality across the backend flow, building automation, benchmarking, and driving root-cause analysis and improvements.
- Validate Aprisa across the digital implementation flow: floorplanning, placement, clock tree synthesis, routing, timing closure, power optimization, and signoff convergence.
- Develop and execute validation plans for new features, technology nodes, and customer-reported issues.
- Build and maintain automated regression and continuous-testing environments for product qualification.
- Analyze quality-of-results differences, identify root causes, and verify fixes with R&D.
- Benchmark Aprisa on advanced process technologies (FinFET, GAA) against reference designs and customer workloads.
- Collaborate with Application Engineering and Customer Support to incorporate real-world design challenges into validation workflows.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of validation methodologies, automation frameworks, and testing infrastructure.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and practical experience. Education details are listed separately below.
- Experience in physical design, product validation, backend implementation, timing closure, EDA tool development, or application engineering.
- Strong understanding of the digital ASIC implementation flow and physical design concepts.
- Working knowledge of static timing analysis, timing optimization, and power analysis/optimization.
- Proficiency in scripting (Tcl, Perl, Python, Shell).
- Experience creating automation, regression, and benchmarking environments.
- Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills.
- Strong Linux/Unix working experience.
- Familiarity with version control and software development workflows (preferred).
- Hands-on use of EDA tools such as Aprisa, Innovus, ICC2, PrimeTime, or Calibre (preferred).
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques applied to physical design (preferred).
- Effective verbal and written communication; ability to collaborate across global teams.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Microelectronics, VLSI Design, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
