Senior Product Quality Engineer – NPI/NTI

Role Summary

Member of the Product Quality Management & Engineering team supporting the Integrated Circuit Solutions business group. Lead quality activities to ensure successful introduction of new semiconductor products and technologies into mass production with required quality and reliability performance.

Provide technical leadership across NPI/NTI lifecycle, drive risk mitigation, compliance to industry and customer standards, and cross‑functional alignment with R&D, process, manufacturing, test and reliability teams.

Experience Level

Senior; 5+ years experience in semiconductor quality, reliability, failure analysis, or product/process engineering is preferred. Role is open to less-experienced engineers who show strong willingness to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

Lead quality activities for new product and technology introductions and ensure product/process readiness for mass production.

• Lead quality assurance for NPI/NTI projects and support qualification execution to meet release targets.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards (JEDEC, AEC‑Q100, AEC‑Q006, IATF16949) and customer requirements.
• Define and approve qualification strategies, reliability test plans, and DFMEA/PFMEA risk assessments.
• Identify failure mechanisms early, lead structured problem solving (8D), and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Coordinate cross‑functional alignment with R&D, process engineering, manufacturing, test engineering, and reliability labs.
• Analyze yield, test, and reliability data to detect trends and drive corrective/improvement actions.
• Represent Quality in customer discussions on new product qualifications and reliability topics.
• Maintain quality documentation: qualification reports, control plans, PPAP/PSW packages, change records; own gate deliverables.
• Validate production readiness, review safe launch plans, and support ramp‑up and early field monitoring.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and process stability.

Requirements

Technical and interpersonal competencies required to perform the role.

• Knowledge of semiconductor devices, assembly/packaging, wafer fabrication, or test engineering.
• Experience with NPI/NTI processes in semiconductor or high‑reliability electronics environments.
• Strong understanding of reliability testing (HTOL, HAST, TC, HTS, ESD, Latch‑up).
• Experience with failure analysis techniques (SEM, EDX, X‑Ray, curve tracing, decapsulation, cross‑sectioning, FIB, OBIRCH).
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes: wafer fab, assembly, test and reliability workflows.
• Proficiency with quality and root‑cause tools: 8D, FMEA, SPC, DOE, APQP.
• Strong cross‑functional leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Analytical, data‑driven decision making and ability to manage multiple projects independently.
• Nice-to-have: experience in automotive semiconductor environments and working with global customers.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related technical field is preferred; equivalent practical experience is acceptable. The role is also open to less-experienced engineers who demonstrate strong motivation to learn.
