Job Title

Senior Product Manager, GPU Compilers & Kernels

Role Summary

Owner of strategy, roadmap, and execution for the Triton compiler and kernel software stack within AMD's Data Center GPU organization. The role focuses on delivering high-performance, correct, stable, and usable software for customer-managed on-premise ML training environments.

Works closely with compiler, kernel, runtime, performance, QA, framework, and customer teams; success is measured by software quality, performance, and developer experience rather than SaaS metrics.

Experience Level

Senior β€” technical product management for systems-level software. Years of experience not specified.

Responsibilities

Translate customer and ecosystem needs into a technical roadmap and measurable outcomes, and drive delivery across teams.

  • Own the Triton compiler and kernel roadmap; prioritize performance, correctness, portability, and usability work.
  • Define clear requirements, milestones, and measurable success criteria based on customer feedback and ecosystem demands.
  • Balance feature development, performance optimization, bug fixes, stability, upstream contributions, and release planning.
  • Ensure release readiness via testing, CI quality, and regression prevention practices.
  • Engage directly with customers and research/training teams to represent customer needs and gather feedback.
  • Lead open source engagement: upstream contributions, issue triage, and community collaboration.
  • Establish operational cadence and execution tracking with customer-focused metrics.

Requirements

Compact list of required and preferred qualifications and skills.

  • Must-have: Proven technical product management experience for systems software, compilers, ML infrastructure, GPU software, or developer platforms.
  • Must-have: Strong technical fluency with system-level tradeoffs and the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, QA, and performance teams; regular customer engagement experience.
  • Must-have: Experience ensuring software quality for on-prem deployments, including release readiness, testing, and CI/regression controls.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with compiler concepts (LLVM/MLIR), GPU kernels, and performance-critical software.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with open source projects and large-scale ML training environments.
  • This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
