Senior Product Engineer
Role Summary
Lead new product development from prototype through production release for RF/Microwave semiconductor products. Act as a technical partner to design, process, manufacturing, test and quality teams to improve yield, optimize product performance, and ensure high-quality product releases.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Role expects approximately 5+ years of relevant product engineering experience or equivalent advanced education and experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include data-driven product engineering, yield improvement and cross-functional support.
- Generate and maintain product engineering deliverables through the product lifecycle.
- Perform timely data analysis to support engineering decisions and product releases.
- Provide detailed analyses for major design revisions and identify parameters needing improvement.
- Drive yield optimization by tracking wafer fab parameters, finding correlations, and troubleshooting process/equipment issues.
- Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) and other statistical methods to reduce variability.
- Support test engineering to debug, validate and release production test hardware/software.
- Create yield plans and roadmaps to improve yield and reduce cost.
- Participate in group problem-solving and continuous improvement projects.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, experience and eligibility requirements.
- 5+ years of product engineering or equivalent advanced education and experience.
- Strong attention to detail, self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication; comfortable presenting to internal and external stakeholders.
- Time management skills to balance multiple high-priority tasks.
- Understanding of RF/Microwave theory and semiconductor physics.
- Familiarity with RF test equipment and common RF test methodologies.
- Expertise in statistical analysis and tools such as JMP, Spotfire and Excel (techniques: DOE, ANOVA, CPK, SPC, time-series analysis).
- Ability to generate and execute yield improvement plans.
- Applicants must be US Persons (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, asylee or refugee); the company cannot sponsor visas for this position and the role requires work on U.S. Government contracts.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience leading cross-functional projects.
- Experience in III/V semiconductor manufacturing.
- Familiarity with structured problem-solving methods (8D, 5-Whys) and Six Sigma or comparable continuous improvement methods.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required. A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is preferred. Equivalent practical experience may substitute for formal degree requirements.
