Senior Product Development Engineer
AlteraJob Title
Senior Product Development Engineer
Role Summary
Develop and deploy manufacturing test solutions for advanced FPGA products from test architecture definition through production release. Work across Design, DFT, Product Engineering, Manufacturing, and Software teams to deliver manufacturable, cost‑effective test flows and stable production test programs.
Support first‑silicon bring‑up, production ramp, yield improvement, and ongoing test optimizations to reduce test cost and improve product quality.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The title indicates senior responsibility; the posting does not specify years of experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include defining and delivering manufacturing test solutions and owning test quality throughout the product lifecycle.
- Develop full-chip test methodologies and manufacturing test solutions for FPGA products.
- Define and verify on-chip DFT structures and test strategies.
- Generate test vectors, perform coverage analysis, and drive test quality improvements.
- Develop, debug, and validate Automated Test Equipment (ATE) programs for production manufacturing.
- Support first-silicon bring-up, silicon debug, and production ramp activities.
- Analyze test results, yield loss, and failure data to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Drive test optimizations to reduce test cost, improve manufacturing efficiency, and enhance product quality.
- Develop and maintain HMDT & UFP test modules and related test infrastructure; convert STIL patterns to production pattern objects (POBJ).
- Perform tester validation, correlation, and production readiness qualification; support test program conversion and continuous improvement.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for this role.
- Experience in semiconductor test development, product engineering, DFT, or manufacturing test environments.
- Strong understanding of digital circuit fundamentals and semiconductor testing methodologies.
- Knowledge of DFT concepts, including Scan, ATPG, MBIST, JTAG, and Boundary Scan.
- Experience with test vector generation, test coverage analysis, and silicon debug.
- Familiarity with ATE platforms and test program development.
- Strong analytical, debugging, communication, and teamwork skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with HMDT & UFP test modules, STIL to POBJ conversion, tester correlation, and yield-improvement projects.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field as listed in the posting.
