Job Title

Senior Product and Application Engineer

Role Summary

Lead product development and provide technical application support for Defacto Technologies' front‑end semiconductor tools. Work across the full product lifecycle — development, validation, and customer deployment — to ensure successful integration of tools into leading‑edge SoC projects.

The role interfaces directly with key semiconductor customers and collaborates closely with R&D teams based in Grenoble and North America.

Experience Level

Senior — requires substantial industry experience. Minimum 10 years of SoC front‑end design experience.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include product development, validation, and customer technical support.

  • Participate in full cycle product development and validation activities.
  • Provide technical support to customers from initial contact through daily use and issue resolution.
  • Integrate and adapt tools to customer flows for leading semiconductor projects.
  • Collaborate with R&D teams in Grenoble and North America on feature development and debugging.
  • Deliver technical presentations, training, and documentation to customers and internal teams.
  • Diagnose complex front‑end issues and propose practical solutions or workarounds.
  • Travel to customer sites as required (around 10%).

Requirements

Essential technical skills and professional qualities.

  • Proven expertise in SoC front‑end design: architecture, synthesis, verification, and DFT.
  • Strong UNIX/Linux working knowledge.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages: Tcl, Perl, Python.
  • Experience with digital design languages: Verilog, VHDL, SystemVerilog.
  • Familiarity with front‑end EDA tools: RTL synthesis, DFT tools, simulation tools, and formal equivalence checking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French for technical and general presentations.
  • Strong analytical problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently and within an R&D team.

Education Requirements

Master's or PhD degree in microelectronics (or closely related engineering discipline).
