Senior Principal Software Engineer
Role Summary
Develop and support next-generation sign-off power analysis tools within an R&D EDA team. The role focuses on delivering high-performance software components that integrate into a large suite of connected applications.
Work includes designing algorithms and systems, writing specifications, implementing production-quality code, and collaborating with application engineers and cross-functional teams to meet customer requirements.
Experience Level
Senior-level; requires 10+ years of software development experience, primarily in C/C++ and performance-critical applications.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and optimize software for sign-off power analysis.
- Develop performance-critical C/C++ code and complex algorithms.
- Integrate with and interface to other applications in a large EDA tool suite.
- Write technical specifications and translate customer requirements into implementations.
- Collaborate with application engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver and support solutions.
- Provide long-term maintenance and enhancements for production tools.
Requirements
Minimum and preferred qualifications:
- Must-have: 10+ years of software development experience in C/C++ with strong algorithmic and performance optimization skills.
- Must-have: Experience developing EDA tools or similar domain-relevant tooling.
- Must-have: Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn quickly.
- Nice-to-have: Knowledge of graph algorithms.
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with SPICE deck formats and Spectre simulator tools.
