Job Title

Senior Principal SOC Power Lead

Role Summary

Lead power analysis, modeling, and optimization for System-on-Chip (SoC) solutions. Manage a small team responsible for pre- and post-silicon power convergence and collaborate with architecture, design, verification, and product teams to meet power and performance targets.

Define workflows and methods to improve analysis accuracy, turnaround time, and correlation to silicon during productization.

Experience Level

Senior-level. No explicit years-of-experience specified in the posting.

Responsibilities

Accountable for delivering power attainment across SoC projects.

  • Lead and mentor a small team of power engineers.
  • Define and execute RTL- and netlist-based power analysis and sign-off flows.
  • Develop and maintain power models and workflows for pre- and post-silicon convergence.
  • Collaborate with architecture, design, verification, and product teams to meet power/performance targets.
  • Create workload scenarios for simulation and emulation to validate power behavior.
  • Improve accuracy, turnaround time, and silicon correlation of power analysis.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • Proven technical leadership and ability to develop multi-team project plans.
  • Expertise in RTL and netlist-based power analysis, sign-off flows, and EDA tools.
  • Knowledge of ASIC power dependencies: technology node, mixed Vt design, library choices, voltage and power domain partitioning.
  • Experience driving multiple projects and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Verification experience creating workload scenarios in simulation and emulation environments (examples: VCS, QuestaSim, Incisive, Veloce Strato, Palladium, Zebu).
  • Strong presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Understanding of software use-cases and interaction with low-power hardware features (clock/power gating, DVFS, retention).
  • Python for automation and modeling.
  • Experience decomposing SoC use-case power budgets to IP-level budgets.

Education Requirements

Not specified.
