Experience Level
Senior β leadership-level IC mixed-signal design engineer.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include design, verification, test, and collaboration across teams.
- Architect and implement mixed-signal circuits from specification through silicon.
- Develop and execute post-silicon test plans and perform silicon validation.
- Define and follow mixed-signal design and verification flows in the Cadence analog environment.
- Collaborate with digital design teams to close functional and performance requirements.
- Contribute to project leadership, schedule planning, and technical decision-making.
- Automate design and verification tasks where appropriate.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and professional abilities are listed below; degree and years of experience are in the Education Requirements section.
- Strong understanding of mixed-signal circuit design fundamentals.
- Experience with mixed-signal design and verification flows using Cadence analog tools.
- Familiarity with basic signal processing concepts relevant to analog/mixed-signal design.
- Ability to develop functional models and work with digital interfaces.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to work independently and lead technical tasks.
- Practical experience developing and executing silicon validation and test plans.
Nice-to-have:
- Serial link design techniques (high-speed PHYs, equalization, link training).
- Data converters (ADC/DAC) and clock synthesis/recovery (PLLs, DLLs, CDRs).
- MATLAB or C for architecture development and modeling.
- Hardware description languages such as SystemVerilog or Verilog-A for functional models.
- Scripting skills (Perl, Python) for automation.
- Prior silicon validation/testing experience for mixed-signal IP.
Education Requirements
Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of mixed-signal design industry experience, or M.S. in Electrical Engineering with 7+ years of mixed-signal design industry experience in advanced process technologies.
