Job Title

Senior/Principal Interface IP Verification Engineer (Pre-Silicon)

Role Summary

Lead pre-silicon verification activities for interface IP used in SoCs. Work with design, architecture, and integration teams to define verification strategy, implement verification environments, and close verification risks before tape-out.

Experience Level

Senior level (Principal). Typically 7+ years of verification experience or equivalent demonstrated leadership and technical ownership in IP or SoC verification.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Define and execute verification plans and sign-off criteria for interface IP.
  • Design and implement SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches, verification IP, and directed/stress tests.
  • Perform protocol-compliance, corner-case, and system-level verification.
  • Debug functional issues across RTL, verification environment, and stimulus; triage with design teams.
  • Automate regression, coverage collection, and reporting; maintain CI for verification flows.
  • Collaborate with architecture, software bring-up, and validation teams for integration and silicon bring-up readiness.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on verification methodology and tool usage.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred qualifications:

  • Must-have: Significant experience in pre-silicon verification of interface IP or SoC subsystems.
  • Must-have: Strong SystemVerilog and UVM skills; experience writing verification IP and constrained-random tests.
  • Must-have: Proficiency with simulation and debug tools, coverage-driven verification, and scripting (Python, Tcl, or similar).
  • Must-have: Proven ability to define verification strategy, drive closure to sign-off, and coordinate across teams.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with protocol stacks such as PCIe, Ethernet, USB, SATA, or DDR PHY/Controller verification.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with emulation, FPGA bring-up, formal methods, or hardware-software integration testing.

Education Requirements
