Senior Principal GaN Scientist

Lead development and commercialization of GaN and related compound semiconductor device technologies. Responsibilities

The role requires both strategic leadership and direct technical contribution to device technology programs.

• Define and drive device technology roadmap for GaN and related compound semiconductors.
• Lead development, release, and adoption of advanced device technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams: R&D device development, integration/operations, RF modeling and circuit design, reliability engineering, and business stakeholders.
• Present detailed technical talks for engineering teams and strategic overviews for business/executive audiences.
• Perform data-driven risk assessment and decision-making throughout technology lifecycle.
• Hands-on execution: write analysis software, analyze complex datasets, set up test systems, and perform device measurements.
• Represent the company in industry forums, conferences, and peer-review activities.

• Deep theoretical foundation in semiconductor physics and device engineering.
• Extensive practical experience developing and releasing GaN device technologies; familiarity with GaAs, InP, and other compound semiconductors.
• Proven ability to influence and collaborate across diverse technical and business functions.
• Strong verbal and written communication for technical and executive audiences.
• Data-driven critical thinking and sound decision-making under uncertainty.
• Hands-on skills: software for analysis, experimental setup, and measurement techniques.
• Industry leadership: participation in conferences, peer review, invited talks, or committee roles.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with RF modeling and circuit design integration.
• Familiarity with reliability engineering and product qualification processes.
• Exposure to business development, marketing, or product management in semiconductor markets.

Education Requirements
