Job Title

Senior Principal Engineer β€” Systems Design/Architect

Role Summary

Develop system-level definitions and architectures for integrated high-speed and precision signal-chain products targeted at industrial applications. Lead product definition, chiplet partitioning, architecture decisions, and collaborate with customers, design teams, and test/eval to move products from concept through development to production release.

Work closely with cross-functional teams on high-speed CMOS/BiCMOS chiplet designs, SERDES interfaces, converters, and precision analog/digital subsystems.

Experience Level

Senior; typically requires 7+ years of relevant industry experience. (See Education Requirements for degree/experience equivalencies.)

Responsibilities

Accountable for system architecture, product definition, development milestones, customer engagement, and production support.

  • Define new product concepts and translate customer requirements into system architectures spanning multiple technologies.
  • Recommend chiplet partitioning, processes, digital algorithms, and feature sets.
  • Lead architecture and design reviews; ensure system goals and customer requirements are met.
  • Develop product datasheets and design collateral such as simulation models and architecture guidelines.
  • Collaborate with test and evaluation teams to design measurement methods, interpret results, and debug silicon issues to root cause.
  • Support customers, FAEs, and application teams with technical questions and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in business development, customer meetings, and proposal generation.

Requirements

Must-have:

  • Deep experience in system engineering for high-speed converters, high-speed digital interfaces (including SERDES), precision analog circuits, and chiplet-based IC solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals and semiconductor IC processes.
  • Proven ability to define system architectures and translate customer needs into product requirements.
  • Experience analyzing complex measurement data and performing root-cause debug of silicon and system issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience working on multi-discipline development teams.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills; able to meet aggressive schedules.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10%.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with BiCMOS processes, high-speed transmit/receive design, or advanced digital algorithms for mixed-signal systems.

Education Requirements

Minimum: BSEE plus 7 years' relevant experience. Preferred: MSEE (or equivalent) plus 7 years, or PhD plus 5 years. Degrees in Electrical Engineering or closely related technical fields, or equivalent practical experience, are acceptable.
