Job Title
Senior Principal Engineer - SoC Design Verification
Role Summary
Lead verification strategy and execution for complex System-on-Chip (SoC) designs, with emphasis on ARM-based microcontrollers, low-power verification, and security IP. Hands-on technical leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration to achieve verification closure and delivery.
Experience Level
Senior — 12+ years of relevant SoC/IP design verification experience.
Responsibilities
Accountable for verification strategy, implementation, and closure at both SoC and IP levels.
- Define and own SoC- and IP-level verification strategy, methodology, and coverage goals.
- Drive design verification (DV) closure across IPs and subsystems; ensure functional safety and security requirements are met.
- Develop and improve verification flows for reuse and efficiency; guide tool and process selection.
- Design, implement, and run UVM-based testbenches, constrained-random tests, assertions, and coverage metrics.
- Execute simulations and debug across RTL, power-aware RTL, gate-level, FPGA prototypes, and emulation platforms.
- Perform regression runs and analyze code and functional coverage to ensure verification completeness.
- Mentor engineers and collaborate with design teams for issue resolution and sign-off.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications and technical skills.
- 12+ years of SoC/IP design verification experience and proven multiple SoC tape-outs.
- Strong experience with ARM-based microcontrollers and SoC-level verification.
- Proficiency in SystemVerilog and UVM; experience with constrained-random verification.
- Hands-on experience with EDA simulators (Synopsys VCS, Cadence Xcelium, Mentor Graphics Questa).
- Experience with low-power verification methodologies (UPF), gate-level and power-aware simulations.
- Skilled in SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA), functional coverage, and regression analysis.
- Verification experience with standard interfaces: SPI, I2C, UART, USB, PCIe, Ethernet, eSPI.
- Strong debugging skills across RTL and netlist simulations, FPGA and emulation platforms.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with flash memory and security IPs (crypto engines, security subsystems).
- Familiarity with analog IPs (ADC, DAC, PLLs) and mixed-signal verification considerations.
Education Requirements
Not specified.
