Senior Principal Engineer, Digital IC Design
Role Summary
Design and verify digital circuits for high-speed SerDes and other digital IP within Marvell's Central Engineering AMS-IP team. The role covers RTL design, verification, synthesis, static timing analysis, and evaluation to deliver SerDes IPs across Marvell product lines.
The engineer will work cross-functionally with Analog, DSP, Design Verification, Firmware, and Application Engineering teams and provide pre- and post-silicon support to product teams.

Responsibilities
The core responsibilities include digital design, verification, and delivery of SerDes IP solutions.
- Write engineering implementation specifications from system requirements.
- Architect and implement RTL for SerDes IPs covering data rates from ~10Gbps to 224Gbps.
- Develop and execute verification strategies and correlate RTL with silicon behavior.
- Perform synthesis and static timing analysis (STA) to meet timing and power targets.
- Improve design methodology, flows, and automation.
- Collaborate with Analog, DSP, DV, FW, and AE teams to deliver integrated IP solutions.
- Provide pre-silicon and post-silicon support to product teams, including evaluation and problem resolution.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience (degree requirements are listed under Education Requirements).
- Strong fundamentals in digital logic design.
- Familiarity with ASIC verification flows and methodologies.
- Proficient in Verilog and SystemVerilog; familiarity with SystemC or Vera is a plus.
- Strong scripting skills: Perl and Tcl.
- UNIX shell scripting experience (csh, bash).
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Self-motivated and able to work within a high-performance engineering team.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with formal verification.
- Low-power design techniques.
- MATLAB and C/C++ for system simulation and evaluation.
- Hardware implementation knowledge of DSP functions.
Education Requirements
Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) specified in the posting. The role specifies 10+ years of relevant experience.
