Job Title

Senior / Principal DRAM Product Development Engineer — DEG Technology

Role Summary

Work on DRAM product development focused on sense amplifiers, timing distribution, calibration, and other data-path circuits across advanced process nodes. Support process startup, qualification, silicon bring-up, yield learning, and production ramp while collaborating with design, test, reliability, and manufacturing teams.

The role combines hands-on circuit and layout work, verification and failure analysis, and technical leadership to improve DRAM robustness, yield, and performance.

Experience Level

Senior or Principal. Senior: 2–5 years of relevant experience. Principal: 8+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include circuit design, verification, ramp support, and cross-functional technical leadership.

  • Design, analyze, and verify memory, logic, and analog circuits; own data-path blocks such as sense amplifiers and timing distribution.
  • Enable new process node startup, qualification, yield learning, and production ramp; define and track readiness metrics.
  • Define and execute silicon experiments; perform electrical failure analysis and lead yield-improvement initiatives using statistical methods.
  • Guide layout activities (floor planning, placement, routing) and perform parasitic extraction and modeling to optimize signal margin and scalability.
  • Collaborate with DFT, Test, Reliability, Quality, Manufacturing, Probe, Assembly, Applications, and Marketing teams to align design and process constraints with product requirements.
  • Apply automation and AI-based tools to improve design quality, yield learning, and workflow efficiency.
  • Document methodologies, present technical results, mentor junior engineers, and lead complex cross-functional projects.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience; preferred items noted at the end.

  • Experience with DRAM, NAND, logic, or related memory interfaces.
  • Hands-on circuit design and verification experience for sense amplifiers, wordline drivers, timing distribution, calibration, or training features.
  • Experience with CAD tools, modeling, simulation, parasitic extraction, and silicon bring-up/debug.
  • Experience performing electrical failure analysis and using statistical methods for yield improvement.
  • Experience guiding layout for floor planning, placement, routing, and layout-aware optimization decisions.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration, communication skills, and demonstrated technical leadership and mentorship.
  • Ability to support production ramps, qualification activities, and develop key readiness metrics.
  • Nice-to-have: experience applying AI/automation to engineering workflows; deep knowledge of high-speed I/O, SI/PI, PDN, CMOS device physics, and BSIM modeling; advanced degree.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics (emphasis on semiconductors), or equivalent practical experience is required. Preferred: Master’s degree in EE/CE/Physics or equivalent. The posting explicitly allows equivalent practical experience in lieu of a degree.
