Job Title
Senior Principal Digital Design Engineer
Role Summary
Lead digital design for SoC subsystems in the Bangalore team, responsible for RTL development, IP selection, integration, and silicon evaluation. Own technical delivery for a subsystem and coordinate cross-functional HW–SW activities.
Experience Level
Senior — 12+ years of experience in digital design and SoC integration.
Responsibilities
Accountable for end-to-end design, verification, and delivery of a digital subsystem.
- Own a subsystem from architecture through silicon evaluation.
- Digital circuit design and optimization for power, timing, and area; promote reusability.
- Evaluate and select IP; integrate IP into SoC.
- RTL coding and support for functional simulation and coverage analysis.
- Define SoC clock architecture, CDC and lint analysis, and support timing closure.
- Develop timing constraints and support backend timing sign-off.
- Support design-for-testability (DFT) and power analysis activities.
- Debug netlist verification issues (0-delay, SDF simulations) and support silicon bring-up and verification.
- Review team outputs, mentor engineers, and provide effort estimates for planning.
- Produce design documentation such as datasheets and design reports; analyze field issues.
Requirements
Core technical skills and experience required to perform the role.
Must-have:
- 12+ years of experience in digital design and SoC integration.
- Expert knowledge of AMBA protocols.
- Familiarity with ARM-based SoC architecture.
- Experience with CPF/UPF power intent formats.
- Strong understanding of digital timing concepts and DFT.
- Experience using functional simulation tools, synthesis tools, and static analysis tools (e.g., Spyglass).
- Good English communication skills and ability to work in a team and mentor others.
Nice-to-have:
- Hands-on experience with backend timing closure and timing constraint development.
- Experience in power signoff flows and silicon evaluation/verification.
