Job Title

Senior Principal CPU Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Lead verification of CPU cores and related subsystems (coherency and cache controllers) on the CPU verification team. Define verification strategies, develop UVM-based testbenches, and work with architects and designers to validate functionality and performance.

Experience Level

Senior β€” requires 15+ years of design verification experience, preferably in CPU or SoC verification.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Perform functional verification of CPU cores and coherency/cache subsystems.
  • Interpret microarchitectural specifications and develop verification strategies and plans.
  • Develop testbenches and create directed and constrained-random tests in SystemVerilog, C, and assembly.
  • Use UVM-based, coverage-driven methodologies; analyze coverage reports and close coverage gaps.
  • Automate regression and verification flows using Python, Perl, or Shell scripting.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and architects to ensure design quality and performance.
  • Perform all activities in accordance with Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • 15+ years of experience in design verification, preferably CPU or SoC verification.
  • Hands-on experience with SystemVerilog, UVM, and constrained-random verification.
  • Familiarity with CPU architectures such as RISC-V, ARM, or MIPS.
  • Basic understanding of cache and coherency concepts.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, Perl, or Shell.

Nice-to-have:

  • Exposure to RISC-V architecture.
  • Knowledge of interconnect protocols such as AXI, ACE, or CHI.
  • Experience with FPGA prototyping or emulation platforms.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.
