RTL Design Jobs, Level - Senior

Job Title

Senior Power Engineer

Role Summary

Senior Power Engineer on the ASICs/Power team in Noida responsible for RTL and block-level power optimization across IP/SoC development. Work includes power analysis, optimization, debugging, and collaboration with design, backend and validation teams to reduce dynamic and leakage power while meeting timing and functionality targets.

Experience Level

Senior-level - typically requires 3+ years of relevant ASIC/power experience (see Education Requirements for degree equivalence).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Perform RTL power analysis and implement RTL-level optimizations (clock/enable efficiency, switching reduction, low-power coding patterns).
  • Use power tools (PowerArtist, PTPX, PowerPro or equivalents) to identify hotspots and drive fixes.
  • Debug RTL and gate-level power anomalies and identify root causes.
  • Collaborate with synthesis, place-and-route, verification, and validation teams to ensure RTL decisions meet post-layout power and timing goals.
  • Develop automation, data pipelines, and analysis scripts in Python; apply data-driven and AI/ML techniques where applicable.
  • Document methodologies, best practices, and results; communicate findings to cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • 3+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or power-focused engineering experience.
  • Understanding of RTL power optimization fundamentals and common low-power design techniques (clock gating, power gating, dynamic vs. leakage tradeoffs).
  • Familiarity with RTL power analysis and optimization tools (PowerArtist, PTPX, PowerPro, or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of backend flows (logic synthesis, place-and-route) and how RTL affects post-layout power/timing.
  • Hands-on debugging skills for RTL and gate-level power issues; strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Proficient Python programming for automation, data processing, and analysis workflows.
  • Effective written and verbal communication and ability to work in a fast-paced global team.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering (e.g., Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field) with multiple years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree with fewer years of experience; or a PhD in a related field. Equivalent practical experience in ASIC/power engineering is accepted where indicated.
