Job Title

Senior Power and Thermal Engineer — Feature Design and Verification

Role Summary

Lead the definition, delivery, and verification of system-level power and thermal features from architecture through silicon. Work on the Silicon Co-Design Team to integrate silicon, platform, software, manufacturing, and product considerations and enable power-compliant product releases.

The role focuses on post-silicon bring-up, power/thermal validation, data-driven power modeling and optimization, and the development of AI-assisted workflows to accelerate codesign and debug across teams.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 6+ years of relevant experience in silicon and product power, power management, and post-silicon validation.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include system-level architecture, validation, and optimization of power and thermal features across silicon and product stacks.

  • Define and drive power feature requirements and schedules from architecture through silicon delivery.
  • Plan and validate chip, module, and datacenter power/thermal compliance; lead post-silicon bring-up and debug.
  • Correlate silicon behavior with simulation and measurement at scale; improve silicon-to-simulation fidelity.
  • Develop system-level power optimizations spanning silicon, platform, software, manufacturing, and product.
  • Create and maintain data pipelines, measurement workflows, and human-in-the-loop review processes to accelerate codesign.
  • Leverage AI/ML tools to accelerate documentation, debug cycles, power prediction, binning optimization, and characterization workflows.
  • Collaborate with system architects, designers, software/firmware, ATE, manufacturing, and AI engineering partners.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; listed concisely.

  • 6+ years of experience in silicon and product power and power management, including power modeling and measurement.
  • Expertise in transistor/device physics, active power management, and frequency/power characterization.
  • Experience with system-level features, product binning methods, and optimization techniques.
  • Proficiency with data analysis and statistical tools; comfortable using Python and data science tooling alongside EDA flows.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML-assisted workflows for power characterization, yield analysis, silicon debug, or log correlation; experience using LLMs is a plus.
  • Hands-on post-silicon bring-up and validation experience.
  • Experience working with offshore teams and strong collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Nice-to-have: exposure to CPU/GPU/SoC architecture, HW–SW co-design, and experience building or piloting AI agents or automation tools for validation workflows.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent practical experience.
