Job Title

Senior Post-Silicon Characterization Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for post-silicon characterization and validation of network ASICs, SoCs and SiPh ICs. Tasks include measuring speed, logic, memory, power and analog circuits using ATE and system-level testing, developing characterization methods, analyzing results, and driving qualification activities.

Member of the NVIDIA Networking IC Product Engineering team; collaborate with chip design, power architecture, backend and manufacturing teams to move products from definition to mass production.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include defining and executing tests, analyzing silicon behavior, and communicating findings to design and leadership.

  • Own characterization of IC performance and power parameters across speed, logic, memory and analog domains.
  • Develop and implement characterization and analysis capabilities for new and existing products.
  • Define and build tests using ATE, bench equipment and system-level setups; perform silicon debug and measurements.
  • Analyze data and present results and conclusions to designers and executives.
  • Define requirements for post-silicon validation and participate in qualification activities.
  • Lead projects from product definition through mass production, coordinating cross-functional teams.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.

  • 5+ years of industry experience in data analysis, product engineering, FAB device engineering, or yield engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with analog and mixed-signal circuit characterization (e.g., PLLs, SerDes, ADCs/DACs, bandgap/reference circuits); bench measurements and silicon debug.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical ability.
  • Ability to self-manage, show leadership, and work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, technical environments focused on engineering excellence.

Preferred: semiconductor test engineering or VLSI validation experience; hands-on use of oscilloscopes and lab equipment; programming and data-analysis skills; understanding of backend procedures, power terminology and measurement methods; experience with power management characterization and reliability/validation engineering.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) in Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Physics or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
