Job Title
Senior Platform AI Engineer - Silicon Co-Design Group
Role Summary
Join NVIDIA's Silicon Co-Design Group to define and own the AI-driven efficiency platform used across silicon design and validation workflows. This role leads platform strategy, architecture, and end-to-end delivery for production AI infrastructure supporting multiple engineering teams.
Responsible for ensuring the platform's reliability, scalability, security, and alignment with cross-functional requirements.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 12+ years of relevant experience; expects leadership at department or company level.
Responsibilities
Lead and deliver the AI-driven efficiency platform used across SCG; set architecture and align stakeholders.
- Define technical strategy and roadmap, prioritize investments to meet cross-functional use cases.
- Partner with domain teams to define platform contracts and onboard agents and skills.
- Own full lifecycle: design, implementation, and sustained production operation, accountable for security, reliability, and performance.
- Drive platform-wide decisions: orchestration patterns, authentication and authorization, observability and SLA enforcement, storage and caching strategies across heterogeneous compute.
- Serve as technical authority: set engineering standards, resolve architectural conflicts, and mentor senior engineers.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to advance AI-driven infrastructure tooling.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience for successful candidates.
Must-have:
- 12+ years hands-on experience designing and operating production-grade platform or backend infrastructure.
- 5+ years direct ML infrastructure experience, including end-to-end ownership of model serving platforms or latency-sensitive backend services.
- Proven track record of setting technical direction across multiple teams and establishing architectural standards.
- Strong Python skills and proficiency in at least one compiled language (C, C++, Go, Java, or Rust).
- Hands-on experience with job queues and sandboxed execution (Kubernetes Jobs, Celery/Sidekiq/Temporal) and container runtimes with resource isolation.
- Experience owning high-stakes systems with structured observability, graceful degradation, clearly defined SLOs, and operational discipline.
- Strong communication and leadership to align senior stakeholders and drive architectural decisions across organizations.
Nice-to-have:
- Industry recognition in ML infrastructure or distributed systems (publications, talks, open-source contributions).
- Experience driving platform architecture at company scale and establishing widely adopted standards or frameworks.
- Exposure to silicon design, methodology, validation, or EDA toolchains and chip development lifecycle.
- Experience building or operating AI platforms within silicon development, validation, or EDA environments.
- Proven mentoring and talent development of senior engineers.
Education Requirements
BS, MS, or PhD (or equivalent practical experience) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
