Senior Physical Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Join Qorvo's EDA team to develop and maintain physical verification methodologies for RF ICs, acoustic wave (SAW/BAW) devices and multi-technology modules. The role focuses on rule-deck development, verification flow enablement, automation and cross-team debugging.

This is an onsite position based in Qorvo's Barcelona office; the expectation is to be onsite five days a week.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The posting requests 5+ years of related experience (or equivalent education and experience).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include rule development, verification flow support, automation and user support.

• Develop and maintain physical verification rule decks (DRC, LVS, ERC).
• Support verification flows for RF ICs, SAW/BAW devices, and multi-technology modules.
• Collaborate with design, R&D and process teams to debug and improve verification methodologies.
• Enhance EDA flows and infrastructure across industry-standard tools.
• Develop automation scripts (Python) to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Provide support for EDA tools and internal users.

Requirements

Key must-have skills and experience, plus preferred additions.

• 5+ years of related experience, or equivalent practical experience.
• Practical understanding of physical verification concepts: DRC, LVS, ERC.
• Familiarity with industry EDA verification tools (examples: Calibre, ICV, Cadence PVS/Pegasus).
• Programming/scripting experience (Python preferred).
• Comfortable working in Linux/UNIX environments.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to debug and improve flows.
• Legal authorization to work in Spain (required).
• Nice-to-have: exposure to RF/EM design tools (Virtuoso, ADS, HFSS), experience with RF IC or high-frequency technologies, and prior work on automation or design workflows.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field is required; equivalent practical experience is acceptable. The posting also references internship/academic experience in EDA or physical design as relevant background.
