Senior Physical Design Engineer
Role Summary
Senior engineer responsible for implementing DDR and HBM PHYs for customer ASICs and SoCs within the DDR and HBM PHY hardening service line. Work includes synthesis, physical design, verification, design-for-test, and ATPG while coordinating with internal and external design teams.
Serve as a senior contributor on projects, provide technical direction, and mentor junior engineers.
Experience Level
Senior — typically requires 3+ years of relevant ASIC physical design experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Implement DDR and HBM PHY hardening for customer ASICs and SoCs.
- Perform synthesis, physical design, verification, DFT, and ATPG.
- Act as senior member or project design engineer working with internal and external teams.
- Provide regular project status updates and represent the team on business-unit or company-wide projects.
- Guide and mentor junior engineers and collaborate with senior personnel.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Minimum of 3+ years of ASIC physical design experience.
- Proficiency with CAD tools such as DC, PT, ICC2/FC, and ICV.
- Experience with FinFET process technologies.
- Strong autonomous problem-solving and judgement across design tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
