Senior PHY System Engineer
Role Summary
Join the End-to-End (E2E) physical-layer performance team in Post-silicon to lead link-level performance characterization, verification, and debugging for NVIDIA electro-optical and electrical products. The role focuses on silicon bring-up, lab measurements, and driving products to mass production with first-class performance.

Senior β 5+ years of experience in high-speed system engineering roles.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include hands-on testing, debugging, and driving cross-team validation of PHY-level performance.
- Own link-level performance characterization, verification, and debugging.
- Debug system-level link issues across hardware and firmware/software.
- Characterize electrical and optical performance using lab instruments (oscilloscopes, VNAs, spectrum/network analyzers, pattern generators).
- Lead silicon bring-up activities and manage end-to-end testing of new ASICs toward production readiness.
- Define test requirements from electrical and optical specifications.
- Set up and validate complex lab testbeds for electro-optical and high-speed electrical measurements.
- Collaborate with test teams to monitor test flows and resolve issues.
- Lead data-driven reviews on product functionality and improvement areas.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience required to perform the role; followed by desirable qualifications.
- 5+ years of proven experience in high-speed system engineering.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analysis skills; demonstrable examples required.
- Basic software/firmware debugging abilities.
- Basic understanding of PCB layout and high-speed board design issues.
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills; ability to guide and influence cross-functional teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with customer technical support and industry specifications (IEEE, OIF).
- Hands-on lab experience with high-speed electro-optical designs and associated equipment.
- Familiarity with optical assembly components (high-speed cables, lasers, diodes).
- Basic scripting skills (Python, MATLAB) for data analysis and automation.
- Experience establishing complex lab setups using optical and electrical high-speed instruments.
Education Requirements
B.Sc. degree in Electronic Engineering required.
