Job Title

Senior Performance Tools Validation Engineer

Role Summary

Deliver and maintain CI, test automation and validation for performance tools and workloads targeting Arm systems. You will build and run reproducible performance tests, validate tooling and measurements, and provide actionable analysis to engineering teams.

This role sits on a software engineering/validation team working across hardware and software stacks to ensure accurate, reliable performance regression detection and measurement.

Experience Level

Senior-level β€” typically requires 5+ years of relevant experience in performance tooling, benchmarking, test automation, or systems validation.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include creating and operating automated performance validation pipelines, developing and validating performance tools, and communicating findings to cross-functional teams.

  • Design, implement and maintain CI pipelines and automation for performance validation.
  • Develop, extend and validate performance measurement and profiling tools and scripts.
  • Create reproducible benchmarks and test suites across hardware and software configurations.
  • Collect, process and analyze performance data; detect regressions and perform root-cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with architects, SoC, firmware and software teams to validate performance and support releases.
  • Document test methods, maintain test infrastructure and support troubleshooting of test failures.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience, with additional desirable qualifications listed separately.

  • Must-have: Proven experience with performance tools and profiling (e.g. perf, VTune or equivalent) and interpreting performance counters.
  • Must-have: Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash) and experience developing test harnesses.
  • Must-have: Experience with Linux-based systems, CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar) and test infrastructure.
  • Must-have: Experience designing and running benchmarks, analyzing results and producing concise technical reports.
  • Must-have: Strong debugging, problem-solving and cross-team communication skills.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with Arm architecture and low-level performance measurement techniques.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with embedded/SoC validation, containerized or cloud-based CI, and C/C++ toolchains.
