Job Title

Senior PCIe Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Senior verification engineer responsible for planning and executing functional verification of PCIe IP and subsystems. Work with RTL engineers, architects and system teams to develop verification environments, tests, and coverage to ensure correctness and performance of PCIe designs.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically 7+ years' experience in digital verification or equivalent industry experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and implement UVM/SystemVerilog testbenches and verification environments for PCIe IP and subsystems.
  • Create directed, random, and corner-case tests and orchestrate test plans to achieve verification goals.
  • Develop and maintain functional coverage models; drive coverage closure and verification sign-off.
  • Author assertions (SVA) and participate in formal verification where appropriate.
  • Run simulations and emulation, analyze results, and debug RTL and system-level failures.
  • Integrate verification environments with regression and CI systems; write automation and verification scripts.
  • Collaborate with architects, RTL designers, software and system teams to resolve issues and ensure correct integration.
  • Mentor junior verification engineers and contribute to verification methodology improvements.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • Proven experience verifying PCIe (PCI Express) IP or subsystems.
  • Strong SystemVerilog and UVM testbench development skills.
  • Experience with assertions (SVA) and coverage-driven verification practices.
  • Familiarity with industry simulators and debug tools (e.g., Synopsys VCS, Cadence, Mentor/Siemens) and regression environments.
  • Scripting/programming skills for automation (Python preferred).
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills; experience tracking issues through RTL to system integration.
  • Effective communication and ability to work across distributed, cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with formal verification, emulation, FPGA prototyping or hardware-assisted verification.
  • Knowledge of SoC-level verification and platform integration.
  • Experience with C/C++ or driver-level validation and system software interactions.

Education Requirements

Not specified.
