Senior Package Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for development and production support of advanced ASIC packaging for NVIDIA Networking products. Works closely with SI, layout, and ASIC design teams and external vendors to define package architecture, resolve electrical and manufacturing issues, and lead reliability and failure analysis efforts.

Role includes project planning, cost and schedule tracking, and leading cross-functional task forces for production issues.

Experience Level

Senior — minimum 5 years relevant industry experience; leadership and project ownership expected.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Lead development of advanced microelectronics packaging solutions for Networking products.
• Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to develop and qualify packaging technologies.
• Plan schedules, manage costs, and define manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Lead failure investigations, production support, and reliability root-cause analysis.
• Coordinate with SI, layout, and ASIC teams on electrical and mechanical integration.
• Drive manufacturability and quality improvements for high-volume production.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications and skills:

• At least 5 years' experience developing complex packaging processes (warpage, thermal management, optics, adhesives, etc.).
• Experience working directly with subcontractors and vendors through development and production.
• Strong organization, multitasking, and project focus; ability to lead and motivate peers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• High awareness of quality, manufacturability, and project schedules.

Nice-to-have:

• Proven record in packaging development.
• Background in semiconductor manufacturing processes and optical systems.

Education Requirements

MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a similar technical field preferred; equivalent practical experience accepted.
