Role Summary
Senior engineer on the Design Verification & Characterization team responsible for developing and implementing optical test, verification, and characterization methods to transition photonic products from design into production. Works cross-functionally with R&D, Manufacturing and Quality to define test requirements and deliver scalable test solutions.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include test development, characterization, and analysis for production-ready optical modules.
- Design and implement optical test and verification strategies for new products.
- Perform detailed characterization of optical parameters and validate real-world performance.
- Analyze experimental data using advanced methods to identify issues and improve designs.
- Develop and integrate AI-assisted tools into test and characterization workflows.
- Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing and Quality to ensure alignment of product requirements and manufacturing readiness.
- Create scalable, well-documented automated test solutions and validate products using Agile practices.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for immediate contribution.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in product development for optical components, photonics, or telecom systems.
- Proven experience with electrical and optical test and measurement equipment.
- Experience in test automation, including instrument control and interfacing with devices under test.
- Proficiency in software development; practical experience with at least one language such as Python, C#, VB.NET, Dart or Flutter.
- Experience using software packages, frameworks, version control (e.g., Git), and familiarity with Agile development tools.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience designing or testing optical components and subsystems specifically for optical communications.
Education Requirements
Graduate degree (e.g., MS, MEng, PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or a related technical field.
