Job Title

Senior NPI Product Engineer

Role Summary

Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) activities for high-performance analog and mixed-signal IC products from concept through high-volume manufacturing. Work within the NPI Product Engineering team and coordinate with Design, Test, Validation, Quality, Reliability, Applications, and Operations to ensure product conformance, manufacturability, and successful transfer to production.

Role focuses on testability/manufacturability, product characterization across PVT, yield optimization, and ATE-to-bench correlation for products operating at high data rates (25–400 Gbps+).

Experience Level

Senior-level. Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience as stated in the posting.

Responsibilities

Accountable for planning, executing, and delivering NPI programs and for driving cross-functional decisions that enable product release and production ramp.

  • Lead NPI program from concept through final product release and transfer to full-volume manufacturing; prepare manufacturing and OSAT documentation.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (Design, Test, Characterization, Validation, Quality, Reliability, Applications, Operations) and report program status to stakeholders.
  • Define and enforce Design for Manufacturability (DfM) and Design for Testability (DfT) requirements; support implementation in design and test.
  • Develop, verify and optimize ATE test programs and test cost models in collaboration with test engineering.
  • Plan and execute product characterization (wafer and bench), including PVT sweeps and ATE-to-bench correlation.
  • Analyze ATE and bench data, perform DOE and yield analysis, identify yield limiters, and drive corrective actions with design/foundry/quality teams.
  • Support failure analysis, root-cause investigations, field return corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to product validation and reliability qualification plans.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience. Nice-to-have items noted separately.

  • Significant experience in semiconductor product, test, or design engineering working with high-speed analog/mixed-signal ICs.
  • Practical knowledge of quality systems, corrective actions, 8D reports, non-conformance and failure analysis processes.
  • Proficient with statistical analysis and DOE tools (examples: Excel, JMP, Galaxy, dataConductor) for yield reporting and modeling.
  • Experience with high-speed digital ATE platforms or equivalent rack solutions (e.g., Advantest, Teradyne) is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of high-speed serial digital interconnect components and test methodologies.
  • Familiarity with JEDEC and/or MIL quality requirements.

Education Requirements

BSc in Electrical Engineering or related field is specified. The posting requires a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience.
