Senior Mixed-Signal Digital Design Lead
Role Summary
Lead architecture and design of high-performance clocking solutions (PLLs, FLLs, DLLs) for next-generation silicon. Responsible for the full lifecycle of analog timing IPs, post-silicon validation, and cross-functional integration with analog and physical design teams.
Experience Level
Senior — requires 8+ years of relevant mixed-signal design experience focused on low-jitter, low-power frequency synthesis in advanced process nodes.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include technical leadership of timing IP design, integration, and validation.
- Architect and design high-performance PLLs, FLLs, DLLs and related clocking circuits.
- Lead full lifecycle development of analog timing IPs and coordinate post-silicon bring-up and validation.
- Drive trade-offs between analog and digital implementations for clocking functions within large SoCs.
- Collaborate with Analog Design and Physical Design teams to mitigate noise coupling and power-supply integrity issues.
- Manage external IP vendors and define internal design methodologies and verification flows.
- Perform jitter decomposition and phase-noise analysis to meet timing and jitter specifications.
- Document designs and mentor team members on best practices for low-jitter, low-power frequency synthesis.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items noted separately.
- 8+ years in mixed-signal design with emphasis on low-jitter, low-power frequency synthesis.
- Proven experience designing and validating PLLs, FLLs, DLLs and related clocking circuits in silicon.
- Experience with post-silicon validation and silicon bring-up.
- Experience managing external IP vendors and defining design methodologies.
- Deep understanding of jitter decomposition, phase-noise analysis, noise coupling, and power-supply integrity.
- Experience in advanced process nodes such as N5 and N3P.
- Preferred: experience with Matlab and Arcsim.
Education Requirements
