Senior Mixed Signal Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and deliver CMOS high-speed interface and mixed-signal circuits, including transceivers and PLLs. The role spans architecture definition, circuit design, simulation, silicon bring-up, and productization while collaborating with layout, mask designers, and cross-functional teams.
Experience Level
Senior β typically requires 5+ years of CMOS analog / mixed-signal circuit design experience.
Responsibilities
The engineer will lead design efforts from specification through silicon validation and handoff to product teams.
- Architect, design, simulate, and verify high-speed interface circuits and mixed-signal blocks.
- Develop high-speed transceivers, high-frequency PLLs, and data converters.
- Lead and mentor mask, floorplan, and layout designers.
- Drive silicon bring-up, debugging, characterization, and lab validation.
- Resolve deep-submicron CMOS circuit issues and contribute to timing, signal integrity, and power integrity analysis.
- Collaborate with multifunctional teams to take designs through implementation and productization.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 5+ years designing CMOS analog and mixed-signal circuits.
- Extensive hands-on experience with data converters, Tx/Rx, CDR, and PLLs for high-speed I/O interfaces.
- Proven experience in silicon bring-up, debugging, and use of lab instrumentation.
- Proficiency with Cadence custom design tools, circuit simulators, and timing analysis tools.
- Experience leading and mentoring designers; strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth understanding of deep-submicron CMOS process and circuit-design considerations.
- Knowledge of system-level timing budgets, signal integrity, and power integrity (preferred).
- Familiarity with Verilog, MATLAB, and Nanotime is helpful.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering; PhD preferred. Equivalent practical experience accepted.
