Job Title

Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) – Process Development, Wet, NAND

Role Summary

Senior technical lead responsible for wet process technology development for NAND. Owns major portions of the wet process roadmap, coordinates cross-site pathfinding, and leads multi‑functional taskforces to improve yield and device roadmaps.

Works with partner organizations and fabs to align pathfinding activities and PD resources; mentors engineers and builds subject-matter expertise within the team.

Experience Level

Senior. Role expects very experienced candidates — typically PhD with ≥12 years relevant experience or Master’s with ≥15 years (or equivalent industry experience).

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include owning wet process pathfinding and leading cross-functional initiatives to improve NAND yield and device roadmaps.

  • Drive process and chemistry pathfinding as part of the NAND Process Technology Roadmap.
  • Coordinate pathfinding activities and align PD resource allocation with partner organizations and TD fabs.
  • Lead critical taskforces and multi-functional teams to drive new-node yield and device roadmap improvements.
  • Mentor and develop engineers; build SME pipelines and promote continuous learning.
  • Publish internal technical reports/BKMs and present findings to senior leadership.
  • Integrate AI-assisted tools and identify process improvements to increase efficiency and quality.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, domain experience, and soft skills.

  • Deep understanding of wet process technologies (e.g., vapor etch, wet strip, dry strip, selective chemical etching).
  • Familiarity with electrical evaluation methods and fab metrology tools (CD-SEM, thickness measurement, particle counters).
  • Experience with DOE/SPC and data analysis systems (e.g., Y3) to analyze experimental outcomes.
  • Working knowledge of memory process flow (planar and vertical NAND).
  • Proven technical contributions such as publications or patents in relevant domains.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration, concise communication, and the ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment.

Education Requirements

PhD with ≥12 years of relevant experience, or Master’s with ≥15 years, in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field. Equivalent practical industry experience is acceptable where noted by the hiring organization.
