Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) – Process Development, Photolithography, NAND

Role Summary

As a member of Micron’s Technical Leadership Program, the SMTS leads pathfinding photolithography technologies for future NAND nodes. The role defines long-term process and equipment roadmaps, shapes integration strategy, de-risks novel lithography concepts, and serves as a technical authority across R&D and manufacturing.

Work focuses on advancing photolithography capability for next-generation memory products.

Responsibilities

Lead technical strategy, development, and mentoring for photolithography process development. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead pathfinding initiatives for future technology nodes and architectures.
  • Establish long-term photolithography process and equipment technology roadmaps.
  • De-risk novel lithography concepts and platforms through experimentation and integration planning.
  • Act as a technical authority across R&D and manufacturing to enable scalable integration.
  • Mentor and develop next-generation technical leaders.

Requirements

  • Advanced proficiency in photolithography process and equipment roadmaps; hands-on experience with cutting-edge photolithography equipment and metrology tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of optics, immersion lithography, polarized illumination, and low k1 imaging.
  • Advanced understanding of semiconductor process flows and memory architecture.
  • Proven experience leading multi-node, multi-site programs.
  • Advanced proficiency with lithography simulation tools, material characterization, DOE, SPC, and basic statistical data analysis.
  • Technical leadership, strategic thinking, and effective mentorship skills.

Education Requirements

PhD with ≥12 years, or Master’s with ≥15 years of relevant experience in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
