Job Title

Senior Member of Technical Staff, NAND PI (SMTS, NAND PI)

Role Summary

The Senior Member of Technical Staff on the NAND Module Process Integration (PI) team will design, develop, integrate, and implement process solutions to improve next-generation 3D NAND yield, quality, cost, and performance. The role leads one or more process modules within the Singapore R&D organization and coordinates across process, device, and manufacturing teams to enable technology development and transfer to production.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The posting specifies extensive industry experience expectations (see Education Requirements for experience guidance).

Responsibilities

Lead technical and project activities for assigned NAND process modules.

  • Own one or more process modules: set direction, define specifications, and maintain continual improvement plans.
  • Design and execute device and process experiments; analyze data, assess statistical significance, and draw actionable conclusions.
  • Identify and mitigate structural, electrical, and reliability issues early using model-based approaches and process control.
  • Optimize structural development, electrical performance, parametric verification, process control, and manufacturability.
  • Drive material selection and qualification; transition materials from research into production.
  • Provide team leadership: assemble and coordinate development teams, set goals, make decisions, and measure outcomes.
  • Coordinate multi-functional activities (reticle tapeouts, flow/traveler changes, lot management) to minimize errors and accelerate projects.
  • Support technology transfer from R&D to high-volume manufacturing.
  • Innovate and generate intellectual property; regular patent disclosures are expected.
  • Communicate project status and influence cross-functional decisions through presentations and discussions.

Requirements

Core technical skills, domain experience, and collaborative abilities required for the role.

  • Extensive semiconductor industry experience in R&D and technology transfer, with proven process integration track record.
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills; ability to perform process integration optimization and root-cause analysis.
  • Proven ability to develop end-to-end understanding of PI modules, structural & electrical failure mechanisms, and process/device interactions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multi-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a demanding, dynamic environment.
  • Nice-to-have: proficiency with scripting/programming and analytics tools (Python, Tableau, Power BI, engineering software), and hands-on experience with NAND/non-volatile memory process flows.

Education Requirements

PhD with >=12 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with >=15 years of relevant experience in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field with semiconductor industry experience. Equivalent industry experience in lieu of degree is not specified explicitly.
