Job Title

Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer – AI Inferencing Systems

Role Summary

Lead the architecture and deployment of end-to-end manufacturing test solutions (ICT, FCT, burn-in, and system-level test) for high-performance AI servers. Drive test development from NPI to high-volume manufacturing with Tier‑1 contract manufacturers and work closely with ASIC, hardware, and software teams to define requirements and diagnostics.

Work focuses on production-ready test automation, diagnostics, and data infrastructure for multimodal generative AI inference systems.

Experience Level

Senior — 10+ years of relevant experience (source notes 10–15+ years). Onsite/hybrid in the San Francisco Bay Area (Sunnyvale, CA).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include designing test strategy, implementing automation, and supporting manufacturing deployment and sustainment.

  • Define and own manufacturing test strategies at PCB, PCBA, and full system levels.
  • Architect and develop automated test solutions and frameworks for factory and CM environments.
  • Develop and maintain test software, GUIs, and data collection/traceability infrastructure.
  • Perform debugging and root-cause analysis for board- and system-level failures during manufacturing and bring-up.
  • Collaborate with Hardware Design, Validation, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to improve coverage and yield.
  • Lead deployment, sustainment, and issue resolution with Tier‑1 contract manufacturers from NPI to HVM.
  • Design and integrate diagnostics that exercise ASICs, high-speed interconnects, and memory subsystems.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for immediate contribution; additional skills are desirable.

Must-have:

  • 10+ years developing manufacturing tests for hardware products, including PCBA manufacturing test processes.
  • Hands-on hardware validation and bring-up experience.
  • Experience supporting PCBA manufacturing lines and working with contract manufacturers (CMs).
  • Proven experience with manufacturing test automation and factory test infrastructure management.
  • Software development for test automation in Python and/or C/C++ on Linux-based environments.
  • Test data collection and analysis experience; familiarity with databases such as MySQL/SQL.
  • Experience building or maintaining GUI-based test applications and cloud-based systems for test data (e.g., AWS).

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with ICT, FCT, burn-in, system integration testing, and boundary-scan.
  • Familiarity with high-speed interconnects, memory subsystem stress/diagnostics, and ASIC-level diagnostics.
  • Prior experience deploying solutions at Tier‑1 CMs in high-volume manufacturing environments.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related technical field (as stated in the source).
