Job Title

Senior Manager, Test, Manufacturability, Reliability and Quality

Role Summary

Lead the Test, Manufacturability, Reliability & Quality (TMRQ) organization within the Silicon Co-Design Group, responsible for taking GPU, SoC, and CPU programs from first power-on through high-volume production.

Own technical execution for production test, control runs, system reliability stress, manufacturing issue closure, and field diagnostics while leading individual contributors and a first-line manager to resolve manufacturing-scale failures.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically requires 12+ years in production test, system validation, post-silicon integration, or reliability engineering in high-volume silicon, including 5+ years in management.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on technical leadership, execution, and cross-functional closure of manufacturing and field issues.

  • Own execution and velocity of SLT, BLT, board/chip/rack control runs, and system reliability stress testing across silicon programs.
  • Drive root-cause analysis and closure for Vmin/binning escapes, performance shortfalls, power anomalies, and other multi-functional failures across design, DFT, ATE, package, firmware, and manufacturing.
  • Convert integration signals (CR fallout, yield, HTOL/CHTOL data, RMA trends, customer escalations) into decision-ready options for executive leadership on production readiness and ramp risks.
  • Establish operational objectives and closed-loop methodologies to improve cycle time, first-pass yield, test time, escape rate, and DPPM.
  • Own platform- and board-level manufacturing issue resolution and implement screening, process, or build changes to prevent recurring field escapes.
  • Hire, develop, and retain managers and lead engineers across geographies; develop ICs into subsystem experts and first-line managers into autonomous leaders.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and leadership experience; education summarized separately below.

  • 12+ years in production test, system validation, post-silicon integration, or reliability engineering in a high-volume silicon environment; 5+ years in management.
  • Strong fundamentals in DFT, BIST, digital design, computer architecture, fault models and analysis, power and timing analysis, sampling, and statistics.
  • Hands-on expertise with production test stack (ATE, SLT, BLT), control run methodology, and PVT/binning dependencies.
  • Practical experience with FinFET-class manufacturing processes and manufacturing debug/closure.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional failure resolution, own WARs, and drive productized fixes through confirmation.
  • Ability to operate independently on complex, ambiguous problems and collaborate clearly across functions.
  • Nice-to-have: background in GPU, CPU, AI-accelerator, or other large-SoC programs.
  • Nice-to-have: applied AI tools in production test or debug workflows and track record of building and retaining senior technical talent.

Education Requirements

BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field β€” or equivalent practical experience.
