Senior Manager - Software Development Engineer in Test

Role Summary

Lead and scale the software QA organization for digital power SoC product lines in Bengaluru; drive test automation, test infrastructure scalability, and quality strategy across multiple products.

Work with product definition, applications, and field teams to improve software reliability and speed of delivery to customers.

Experience Level

Senior — 14+ years in software test design with at least 5 years in management or leadership roles.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include technical leadership, process and team scaling, and ensuring test automation and infrastructure meet product demands.

• Lead and grow SW QA teams; mentor managers and engineers.
• Define quality KPIs and set an automation roadmap; evaluate AI where applicable.
• Develop and execute software quality strategy for multiple product lines.
• Design and scale test automation frameworks and test infrastructure for hardware-attached software.
• Coordinate resource planning, hiring, and management of hardware assets used in testing.
• Partner with product, applications, and field teams to ensure requirements are testable and validated.
• Balance manual and automated testing to meet release velocity and reliability targets.

Requirements

Must-have technical and leadership qualifications.

• 14+ years’ experience in software test design with a proven record of scaling QA organizations; 5+ years as a manager.
• Deep experience with test automation frameworks such as Squish, Selenium, or equivalent.
• Proficient in Python, Java, or other modern object-oriented languages.
• Experience with Git and modern CI/CD practices.
• Strong written and verbal cross-functional communication skills.
• Proven ability to balance tactical and strategic QA goals and to manage trade-offs between manual and automated testing.
• Experience managing hardware-integrated testing environments and related resource planning.
• Nice-to-have: familiarity with electronics and embedded systems; experience applying AI/ML techniques to testing.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering required.
