Job Title

Senior Manager - SOC Verification

Role Summary

Lead SoC verification efforts for Microchip's microcontroller products, responsible for verification strategy, testbench development, regression management, and full-chip debug for complex digital designs featuring ARM and proprietary cores.

Position sits in the dsPIC Microcontroller Business Unit and works within a global engineering team to deliver silicon-quality verification for next-generation MCU products.

Experience Level

Senior β€” requires 10+ years of experience in SoC verification.

Responsibilities

Deliver verification solutions and lead a team to ensure functional integrity of MCU SoCs.

  • Define and execute complex SoC verification strategies for ARM and proprietary-core designs.
  • Perform RTL and gate-level verification, analyze GLS results, and collaborate with STA to resolve timing violations.
  • Develop UVM/SystemVerilog testbenches, tests, assertions, and coverage-driven verification plans.
  • Implement fault-injection and functional-safety test scenarios; run coverage analysis.
  • Debug full-chip issues and integrate module-level testbenches into system regressions.
  • Mentor and grow junior engineers; promote automation and advanced verification techniques.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including STA, analog/mixed-signal, and post-silicon validation where required.
  • Travel: approximately 0%–25%.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and domain experience; preferred items listed separately.

Must-have:

  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on SoC verification experience.
  • Expert-level SystemVerilog and UVM knowledge and practical testbench development skills.
  • Experience with STA and gate-level simulation analysis.
  • Proven experience verifying SoCs incorporating ARM Cortex-M cores and proprietary RISC cores.
  • Deep understanding of microcontroller peripherals (DMA, timers, ADC/DAC interfaces, security modules, functional-safety related features).
  • Experience with formal verification techniques and tools (property/connectivity checking, e.g., JasperGold or VC Formal).
  • Familiarity with AMBA bus protocols (AHB, APB, AXI) and coverage-driven verification (CDV) methodologies and managing large regression suites.

Nice-to-have:

  • Gate-level simulation and power-aware verification experience.
  • Post-silicon validation experience and alignment of pre-silicon test plans with customer support needs.
  • Analog/mixed-signal (AMS) simulation exposure.
  • Familiarity with functional safety standards such as ISO 26262.

Education Requirements

Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Electronics/Electrical or Computer Science is listed in the posting.
