Job Title

Senior Manager - Process Development, CMP/BTG (NAND)

Role Summary

Lead a team responsible for chemical-mechanical planarization (CMP) and back-end/through-gate (BTG) process development for 3D NAND technology nodes. Drive development, integration, transfer to manufacturing, supplier partnerships, and implementation of data-driven techniques to achieve robust, manufacturable processes.

Experience Level

Senior - requires significant leadership and technical experience; the role specifies a minimum of 8 years in semiconductor process development and at least 3 years leading or supervising engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Hire, lead, mentor, and develop a team of CMP & BTG engineers; provide feedback and career development.
  • Own CMP and BTG process module development: characterization, integration, process margin improvement, and manufacturability for 3D NAND nodes.
  • Drive execution of process development activities against the technology development roadmap to deliver robust, scalable solutions.
  • Collaborate with Process Integration, Manufacturing Development, Equipment Engineering, and global TD teams to meet integration requirements.
  • Lead transfer of processes to high-volume manufacturing, supporting pilot ramps, yield improvement, and long-term stability.
  • Design and execute DOE-based experiments and apply data-driven/statistical methods to optimize process performance and expand process windows.
  • Implement advanced process monitoring and control strategies to ensure repeatable, manufacturable performance.
  • Partner with equipment and materials suppliers to co-develop and qualify next-generation solutions; drive supplier execution and roadmaps.
  • Identify and lead process simplification, cost reduction, and productivity-improvement initiatives.
  • Promote safety and IP protection; drive adoption of data analytics and AI/ML techniques for predictive modeling and accelerated development.

Requirements

Must-have technical and leadership qualifications:

  • At least 8 years of semiconductor process development experience with strong expertise in CMP and/or BTG processes.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience leading or supervising engineering teams with demonstrated ability to develop talent and drive execution.
  • Thorough technical knowledge of CMP processes and understanding of related integration/structural impacts.
  • Experience transferring processes to manufacturing and supporting ramp and yield improvement.
  • Experience working with suppliers/vendors on process development, qualification, and problem-solving.
  • Working knowledge of DOE, data analysis, and statistical methodologies.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills; ability to influence cross-functional and external stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, able to manage multiple priorities, and willing to take calculated risks to drive innovation.
  • Must be based in Singapore.
  • Nice-to-have: Direct BTG experience and prior engagement in supplier technology roadmaps and co-development.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related engineering field (degree level explicitly required in the source). No certifications or equivalent-experience language was specified beyond the degree requirement.
