Senior Engineer, Post Silicon Validation
Lattice SemiconductorJob Title
Senior Engineer, Post Silicon Validation
Role Summary
The Senior Engineer, Post-Silicon Validation will validate and characterize FPGA building blocks at board level (SERDES, memory interfaces, DPHY, PLL, DSP, fabric, I/O). You will plan and execute silicon bring-up, develop test logic and automation, analyze measured data, and collaborate with design, verification, manufacturing, test, quality, and applications teams to move products from silicon arrival to production release. Role is based in Pune, India.
Experience Level
Senior β posting specifies 2+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Validate and characterize IPs from silicon arrival through release to production; capture datasheet parameters.
- Develop validation and characterization plans, bench hardware setups, and required software/tools.
- Design and implement test logic (RTL) and FPGA-based test harnesses to achieve validation objectives.
- Perform silicon bring-up, system-level debug, and performance characterization using lab equipment.
- Analyze measured data with a statistical mindset and document results for release.
- Act as a central resource coordinating across design, verification, manufacturing, test, quality, and applications groups.
- Support customer issue investigation and resolution for released products as needed.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- 2+ years of experience in silicon validation, product bring-up, or similar engineering roles.
- Experience with high-speed SerDes characterization and protocol compliance testing (examples: PCIe, Ethernet, SDI, CoaXpress, JESD204, MIPI D-PHY, MIPI CSI/DSI-2, USB, DisplayPort/HDMI).
- Knowledge of high-speed board design and signal integrity evaluation/debug techniques.
- Familiarity with RTL (Verilog/VHDL) and FPGA development flows for test implementation.
- Test automation experience using Python, Perl, or similar scripting languages.
- Hands-on exposure to bench equipment for device characterization (BERT, VNA, oscilloscopes, protocol exercisers/analyzers) and experience with FPGA prototyping/emulation.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, and effective written and verbal communication for cross-functional work.
- Nice-to-have: experience with statistical analysis tools such as JMP or R for data analysis and characterization.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is specified in the posting.
