Role Summary

Lead and scale Renesas' microcontroller (MCU) portfolio under the India-for-India charter. This role defines product strategy and architecture, drives silicon and platform execution, and coordinates cross-functional teams to deliver MCU products for the Indian market while maintaining global competitiveness.

The role combines technical leadership in MCU/SoC design and execution with people management, cross-functional collaboration, customer engagement, and responsibility for quality, schedule, and cost targets.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Requires 15+ years in SoC / IP / MCU design with at least 5 years in technical leadership or management roles.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on product and technical leadership, execution discipline, and team building for MCU platforms.

• Define MCU portfolio strategy, make build-vs-buy decisions, and set execution plans.
• Lead product lifecycle from concept through silicon bring-up, validation, and production to meet quality, schedule, and cost targets.
• Drive MCU architecture, micro-architecture, and design requirements aligned with market and customer needs.
• Provide technical leadership across RTL design, performance optimization, and power-aware architectures (UPF-based low-power design).
• Collaborate with IP, technology, packaging, physical design, verification, software, validation, and test teams to ensure coherent system and silicon decisions.
• Support silicon validation, system integration, and production test readiness.
• Coordinate with software and product teams to align firmware, drivers, and ecosystem readiness with silicon delivery.
• Engage with Sales, Marketing, and customers to define roadmaps, clarify requirements, and support key technical discussions.
• Build, mentor, and scale high-performing engineering teams and establish execution discipline and a quality-focused culture.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, experience, and leadership capabilities.

• 15+ years experience in SoC, IP, or MCU design; 5+ years in technical leadership or management roles.
• Deep expertise in processor-based controller architectures (ARM-based MCUs), DMA, and common interfaces (USB, PCIe, SPI, other peripherals).
• Familiarity with RTL, design verification, DFT, physical design, software, and silicon validation flows.
• Proficiency with scripting and design automation tools.
• Strong decision-making across Technology, IP, Architecture, Implementation, Test, and Product Engineering.
• Proven ability to lead globally distributed, cross-disciplinary teams; excellent communication and structured problem-solving skills.
• Balance of hands-on technical depth and strategic organizational leadership.

Education Requirements

B.Tech or M.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Computer Science (as stated). No alternative degree/equivalent-experience language provided in the posting.
