Senior Manager, ASIC Engineering

Role Summary

Lead HPE's ASIC Engineering team responsible for design and verification of high-speed ASICs for next-generation networking products. The role oversees multiple projects from specification through tapeout and coordinates cross-functional work with logic designers and software teams.

This is a hybrid position requiring in-office work two days per week in Sunnyvale, CA.

Experience Level

Senior — requires extensive ASIC engineering and people-management experience (guidance: 10+ years).

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include technical leadership, project delivery, and team development.

• Manage and grow a design and verification engineering team focused on high-speed ASICs.
• Lead engineering activities from specification through tapeout and production handoff.
• Create and maintain project schedules; track milestones and risks.
• Coordinate cross-functional work with logic designers, software developers, and other stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and establish verification strategies and best practices.
• Oversee multiple simultaneous ASIC projects and ensure on-time delivery.

Requirements

• 10+ years of ASIC engineering experience including engineering management.
• Proficiency in Verilog, SystemC, and C/C++; familiarity with scripting languages for automation.
• Proven leadership, communication, and personnel development skills.
• Demonstrated experience managing projects from design start to tapeout and production readiness.
• Strong project management and scheduling capabilities.
• Nice-to-have: experience with high-speed networking ASICs, system-level modeling, or network product domains.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field (Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or similar). The posting specifies BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field.
